On 15th July 2023, the Final of the “21st Century Cup” National English Speaking Competition (Hong Kong Region) was held in JW Marriott Hotel Hong Kong. Here are the winners of the six categories:

This year's champion of the university category, Wong Tsz Chun Jason from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, will represent Hong Kong in the National Grand Final. The winners of other groups will have the opportunity to participate in the Elite National English Speaking Exchange Programme, where they can witness the National Grand Final and learn from contestants from all over the country. Furthermore, outstanding contestants will be selected to become anchors and junior reporters for China Daily's Hong Kong edition, contributing to the production of youth-oriented video programs.

This year’s competition set a new record for participant numbers, with over 3,000 students from more than 200 institutions, including primary, secondary, and tertiary schools. In addition, the competition saw the launch of the kindergarten category for the first time. Over 100 children from kindergarten grades 1 to 3 demonstrated their English abilities through prose reading, nursery rhyme singing, English storytelling, and English verse speaking at the Recital Hall in the Hong Kong City Hall on 22 June.
